A letter to a lost love ...
I am an Australian artist with an interest in memory and finding patterns and narratives in the everyday. I am part of an upcoming international group exhibition, Shifting perspectives, 12-31 March 2016 at SHOPHOUSE 5 Gallery and curated by Christina Arun Sok. My work is based on hand-written letters and will consider the passing of time and the loss of the presence of those whom we love and who loved us – a universal experience – either by death or by circumstance.
Are you please able to help? Can you be part of this exhibition? Do you have a significant 'lost' person to whom you could write? The letter doesn't have to be serious or too long and can be written in a language of your choice. There is an option to seal your letter OR to allow others to have access to reading it. Your letter would be kept amongst others and read by the viewer who will also have the opportunity to add their own letter. Please let me know if you are willing and able to contribute. The deadline for your letter would be February 29 and there is no special paper or stationary requirements, just as long as the letter is hand-written. The letter can be posted or scanned and emailed. POSTAL: 136 UPPER RICHARDSON STREET, WHITFIELD, QLD 4870 AUST EMAIL: [email protected] I hope that you will be part of this project and I greatly appreciate your participation. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you require further information and I look forward to receiving your letter. |
