In 2015, Rigley sought out local dogs and their owners as the basis for her solo exhibition – Canines of Cairns – focusing on the human/canine connection and the individual stories behind that bond. Through the project, Rigley met and photographed a plethora of different dogs and collated the stories provided by their human companions; together these form a composite impression of each special inter-species relationship.
